Metro Lutheran Ministry (MLM)

First Lutheran Church joins with many other congregations in the Greater Kansas City area to support Metro Lutheran Ministry (MLM), a social service agency serving our neighbors in need. Programs we regularly support through MLM include:

• Christmas Store - If you are looking for an activity to put you in the holiday spirit, the Christmas store may be for you. This store is provided for clients of MLM to select Christmas gifts for their family members who otherwise may receive none. Our members donate toys and new gift items to be distributed. Financial contributions are also made to provide food for a Christmas dinner. During the holiday season, volunteers work at the store in three locations in the metropolitan area.

• Spring Fling - This full-day event is an opportunity for fellowship and for raising money for the MLM Christmas store. A pancake breakfast, bake sale, silent auction and entertainment are all part of this fun-filled day.
  
  
• Hollis/MLM Golf Tournament - Every fall golfers from First and the 24 other local area congregations gather for a one-day golf tournament to benefit both Hollis Renewal Center and the MLM.
  

 At First Lutheran church, everyone can find a way to give God's gifts back to the community.
